Swimming North Coast swimmers performed very well against swimmers from throughout the State at the weekend in Swimming NSW Age Short Course championships.

Held at Sydney's Olympic Park Aquatic Cetnre, swimmers the north coast was represented by six clubs from Forster, Kempsey, Kingscliff, Port Macquarie, Sawtell and Coffs Harbour.
Twelve swimmers from these clubs competed in 55 events during the weekend.
Seven Medals and 15 top 10 placings were won.
Five of these medals came from Kingscliff’s only swimmer, Bindi Ware with a first in the 14 years, 100m freestyle, 57.28 PB, and 200m freestyle, PB 2.03.98; second in both the 400m PB 4.22.38 and 50m freestyle PB 26.67 and third in the butterfly 1.04.72.
Further medals: Tayla Hall, Sawtell, 12 years 200m backstroke, 2, 2.26.27; 100 backstroke, 2, 1.07.84 PB. Tayla was place in the top 10.
Further top 10 placings went to nine-year-old Riley Andrews, Coffs Harbour 100m butterfly, 1.20.38 8, 2, PB; and 15-year-old Layne Grant, Forster, 15 27.26, 9; Jeffery Dane 14 years 100mn breast-stroke, 1.08.88, 8; 200m breast-stroke, 2.34.57, 10, PB; 50m freestyle, 25.16, 4, PB and 100m freestyle, 54.88, 5, PB; Tyler Jones, 18 years 200m butterfly, 2.06.73, PB and 100 fly 58.02, 10, PB and Claire Van Kampen, 14 years, 100 backstroke, 1.06.55, 9, PB. Mark Thurgood, Kempsey 18 years, 1 and from Port Macquarie Tom Berryman 16 years 1 and Sam Harris 17 years, 1.
Further times for Layne Grant, 100m butterfly, 1.07.34, 19 PB; 100m backstroke, 1.10.14, 25,PB; 100m freestryle, 1.00.26, 19 and 200m freestyle, 2.13.33, 24. Jeffery Dane 200m freestyle, 2.02.77, 13, PB and 100m, butterfly 1.04.56, 30. Tyler Jones, 100m freestyle, 53.77, 25, PB and 50m freestyle, 24.23, 15, PB. These were exceptional results for the winter swimming and looks good for the next summer.
