Well, after more communication with the Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead, regarding the Electricity Supply Access Charge(SAC), I still cannot obtain a commitment from our representative that he will endeavour to fight to have this charge fall in line with Ausgrid consumers.

At present, Essential/Endeavor Energy areas (country areas 4/5 of the State) charge us $1.60/day compared to Ausgrid consumers (city areas) $0.82/day,TWICE the amount.
As our representative in the Myall Lakes he should be doing his utmost to secure the same cost for our area.
His country colleagues should be doing likewise.
After all we are closer to the power stations than our Sydney counterparts.
One can nearly see the power stations from Yacaaba Headland (80km away).
Each time I correspond with the member it is the same old reply: "I will refer it to the Minister for Energy, the Hon Anthony Roberts for his consideration.
Honestly,I must be on his "speed email list".
That consideration is: "Country areas require more infrastructure, hence the greater cost".
What a cop-out!
Karuah, 20km from Hawks Nest is in an Ausgrid area and enjoy a SAC of $0.82/day.
We at Hawks Nest and Forster are charged $1.60/day.
The NSW Government, wish to encourage people to move to the country.
Well, one incentive would be to begin to make country living costs on a par with the city.
John Alterator,
Hawks Nest.
