Smithy, the blacksmith, engaged us with tales of the olden days while forging a snail from a piece of steel.
Even though they had watched the process the children still wanted to know “how did you do that?”
After a fast and furious horse-drawn- carriage ride it was onto the arena where the bullock team was put through its paces.
Did you know the Timbertown bullock team is the only fully operational demonstration team left in the world!
During the train ride we spotted some settlers’ camps and wondered how the settlers kept warm and dry in winter.
Unfortunately no nuggets were discovered when we panned for gold and some of us ended up in the stocks at the Timbertown Gaol.
