A progress association spokesperson said: “Now that we are part of the very large MidCoast Council it is important that as a community, we are clear about our priorities for this village and its people.
“We hope that you will be able to come along to share your thoughts for our community in the present and the future, and consider the thoughts of others who are interested in Coomba and its future.”
Coomba has been asked by the council to produce a village plan that will be used in the allocation of future support and funding to the area.
Other communities in the area are already working on their plans.
This plan will bring together the wide range of opinions and preferences within the Coomba community so that the ‘essence’ of Coomba can be identified.
The information will become the yardstick to guide decisions about what happens into the future – for the Coomba community, for council and for other authorities.
The whole process and what comes out of it is a Coomba community project.
The workshop will be run by an independent, experienced, qualified and professional facilitator.
The spokesperson said the ongoing plan would be in the hands of the Coomba Community.
“It is hoped that all residents and organisations within our community will participate in sharing ideas that reflect, as far as possible, the thoughts and aspirations of the whole community.”
