Each year thousands are lured to the Forster Keys precinct by the prospect of a fabulous day out, with plenty to see, hear, taste and do.
Last year, this popular local event drew over 8,000 visitors, on a glorious sun-filled day.
Organisers are confident the 2016 Forster Fun Day offers something for everyone.
Saturday’s power boat practice session and display will get the weekend off to an exciting and adrenaline-fueled start.
This year’s power boat line up includes a large contingent of power boats from across Australia.
There is nothing quite like the deep throttle ‘grunt’ and fast-paced action of power boats to get your pulse racing, and the Forster Keys foreshore provides the perfect vantage point for all the action.
The Saturday practice session and display starts from 10am, with more on-the-water action and display time the following day.
A welcome dinner has also been arranged by the Forster Keys Progress and Ratepayers Association, the driving force behind the fun day, in conjunction with the Great Lakes Historic Automobile Club Inc.
Mayor Jan McWilliams will be on hand to welcome visiting car club members and special guests.
Sunday is the main ‘Fun Day’, and everything happens between 9am and 3pm.
Some lucky visitors will get the chance to meet Ken Warby, the iconic Australian motorboat racer who holds the world water speed record.
Off the water classic car, vintage motorbike and steam engine displays, a fabulous and fun-filled dog show and entertaining, live music performances will provide colour, action and good times at every corner.
Market stalls will also offer a wide range of goodies, including delicious food, snacks, beverages and sweet treats.
Of course it wouldn’t be a Forster Family Fun Day without plenty for the kids to do and see.
A jumping castle, giant children’s playground and merry-go-round will put smiles onto plenty of small faces, along with fairy floss, fairground games and all the things that make the day so merry.
Entry is free; make your way down to Elizabeth Parade, Forster Keys on July 2 and 3 for what is shaping up to be the best Forster Family Fun Weekend yet.
