A 17-year-old Sydney male is in a critical condition in Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital after an accident in Oyster Parade, Forster on Tuesday morning.

He was transferred by Westpac Rescue Helicopter at 9.30am after sustaining head injuries following a fall from the cabin of a parked prime-mover earlier in the morning.
Due to the patient’s condition he was placed into a medically induced coma before being airlifted from the playing fields near the Forster YMCA complex.
Taree duty officer John Sullivan described the incident as a tragic accident.
“He slipped getting out of the truck,” he said.
The young man, from Fairlight on Sydney’s northern beaches, went into theatre at 11.40am.
The NSW Ambulance Service was called to the scene to treat the unconscious man before the helicopter was called.
