Despite low phone battery, two 16-year-old bushwalkers were able to put out an SOS to emergency personnel after they became lost on Thursday evening.

The male and female were rescued from the Seal Rocks area by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The teenagers were walking from Sandbar to Seal Rocks when they became lost in the fading light.
After putting out a mobile phone call, passing on basic information, the pair was able to light a fire which assisted the helicopter locate them.
On arrival at the scene the helicopter’s paramedic was lowered in to the location to examine the pair before they were winched out and flown to the Pacific Palms helipad.
They were checked out by the helicopter’s doctor and waiting ambulance staff with both reported in a good condition.
The helicopter returned to base.
