Being presented by the Great Lakes International Triathlon Association on Saturday May 7, in conjunction with local adventure event company Fully Rad Adventures, the 2016 course will follow the same as previous years.
It includes combination of trails and tracks between Pacific Palms and Forster.
Swimming, running, riding and paddling, the race has something for everyone, offering athletes a chance to explore the incredible landscapes that exist throughout the Great Lakes.
The course has also been designed to suit both beginners and seasoned racers.
The Dave Bortfeld trophy is back on offer for the first local mixed team with last year’s winners Team Feibig back to defend their title.
The Forster Adventure Race is a real community event involving communities, volunteers and organisations across the Great Lakes.
Last year’s winner Jarod Kohlar, one of Australia’s top adventure athletes is coming back this year to defend his title.
“Foster Adventure race in 2015 was perfect; the weather, the water, the course, the community and the hospitality,” he said.
“The one-day course format makes it easier on support crews and also opens the race up to more people.
“It takes the best swim, run, and paddle locations around Forster and links them all together to make the ultimate adventure”
So, the Forster Adventure Race challenge has been set.
The call is out for racers and teams to sign up and tackle the course.
The event is also still looking for volunteers.
“Volunteering is a great way to get a look at adventure racing up close as well as helping out a great community event”
