NSW Lotteries officials had been trying unsuccessfully to contact the registered winners last week to break the life-changing news that they’d won a $1 million first division prize in Wednesday Lotto draw 3529 on 10 February.
They purchased the ticket from Tully's Newsagency in Tuncurry while on holidays. Now they're millionaires they're considering taking a permanent holiday.
"I asked a close friend at work to double check my numbers and after checking our ticket she started crying because she was so happy for us."

“Our phone was broken so we couldn’t receive any calls. Our weekend could have been so different if we knew that we were millionaires,” the stunned winning wife exclaimed.
“I decided to check our entry this morning on my way to work and the person at the newsagency told me that we’d won more than $1,000 but I’d have to contact NSW Lotteries to find out how much.
“When I got to work and sat down at my desk, I looked up the winning numbers online and couldn’t believe it when I saw that we had all six of them on our ticket.
“I then asked a close friend at work to double check my numbers and after checking our ticket she started crying because she was so happy for us. She’s even asked me if she can quit work and become my cleaner.”
The winner explained they’d purchased their first division winning Wednesday Lotto ticket (14-game marked entry) in Tuncurry while holidaying in the area, and now that they’ve won $1 million they might take a permanent holiday.
“I’ll retire for sure and my husband will more than likely retire too now that we’ve won first division.”
It was the only entry that won first division in last week’s Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw which offers a guaranteed division one prize of $1 million for up to four winners in each draw.
The winning numbers in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 3529 on Wednesday February 10 were 34, 1, 11, 30, 16 and 32 with the supplementary numbers of 31 and 27.
ON THURSDAY: WE have a mystery millionaire in our midst.
The Division 1 winning ticket was sold at Tully's Tuncurry Newsagency in anticipation of the regular Wednesday night draw.
And as of this afternoon (Thursday February 11) NSW Lotteries have been unable to contact the registered player who picked all of the six numbers needed to win the $1Million prize.
"They will be updating us this afternoon with what's happening," an excited Tracey Tull explained. She manages the store with her husband Nick.
"The store has been here for over 30 years and it's never sold a million dollar ticket. We've had some big wins but never a million dollars."
