A video posted on the Great Lakes Advocate’s Facebook page shows the current quickly sweeping the kayak out to sea as the paddlers get onboard the boat.
Marine Rescue Forster Tuncurry unit commander Mike Thomas applauded the actions of the boat and jet ski operators.
“That’s the code of the sea,” Mr Thomas said.
“If someone is in trouble you have to help them.”
He said Marine Rescue was not contacted and it was good that initiative was taken.
He said this morning (January 25) the Forster Tuncurry unit was called to a break down off Bennetts Head. Within 10 minutes the boat was back in harbour.
