Former Terrigal Trojans coach and school teacher Lee Sullivan has signed with the club for the coming season.
Sullivan brings a wealth of experience with an extensive resume that includes coaching Terrigal Trojans, NSW Country, Central Coast and a variety of school boy’s teams.
“I am really looking forward to the challenge,” Sullivan said.
“I have been really impressed by the club since they first approached me about the prospect of coaching. There is a lot of enthusiasm within the club.”
Sullivan is a life member of Terrigal Trojans, a club which plays in the strong Central Coast competition.
He is a former first grade premiership player and after finishing his playing days took up coaching. He spent nearly a decade at the helm of the club, where he was successful in winning the Club Championship and was awarded Coach of the Year.
He moved to the Mid North Coast five years ago and until recently has been involved in the promotion of juniors in the area, as well as refereeing games.
“What I have been impressed with in my time on the Mid North Coast has been the improvements in the competition. There is a great attitude among the clubs and a real love of the game,” he said.
One of Sullivan’s first priorities is to make sure the current playing roster is on board for next year. “What I have seen is the club already has a great culture,” Sullivan said.
“It is well followed in Nabiac and from what I have already witnessed, the crowds love to get down to the game to support their local team.
“What has impressed me is the professionalism of the club. Young president Daniel Hessing and vice president Mat Morris have been terrific. They are a club going places and this excites me and one of the reasons why I wanted to get on board.”
Sullivan said his goal was to make the Bulls match the likes of Forster, who had been the benchmark of the competition.
Wallamba Bulls president Daniel Hessing said he believed Sullivan brought a lot of pride and passion to rugby, which is exactly the ingredient needed at the Bulls.
Pre-season training will begin the first week of February. If there are any players interested in playing for the Bulls next season, phone 0434 362 870.
