It’s something she has done for years which brings enjoyment to people both young and old.
But on Saturday morning she woke to find all her lights knocked down, Christmas kangaroos pulled up and a Santa inflatable slashed.
The attack was such a shock, Ms Lawrence said she may not put up her lights ever again.
“It happened about Friday night at midnight,” Ms Lawrence said.
“I heard noises but didn’t consider anything was going on. Then I heard a bang and the power went out.”
Ms Lawrence was home alone and too frightened to go outside.
Eventually she turned the power back on and went outside to find a lawn full of sparking wires.
It was not until the morning that she realised the full extent of the damage.
“I’m surprised they didn’t get electrocuted,” Ms Lawrence said.
“I spent all day on Monday in the heat putting them up again. I’m worried they will come back and do it again.
“I would like to get whoever done it to put them up, because it takes a fair bit of work to set them up.”
While the attack has made Ms Lawrence reconsider putting up the lights next year, her neighbours have urged her to continue.
Neighbours and even some paramedics gave her new lights.
One girl dropped off a letter saying she had grown up with the display and every Christmas it brought her cheer.
Ms Lawrence said her and her daughter usually put their spare money in a jar to save up for new decorations.
“They wreck it for everyone else,” she said.
“The old people and children come around to look at it at night and they just love it.
“I don’t mind setting up the decorations, but I just sat down and cried on Saturday.”
Manning-Great Lakes Acting Inspector Matthew Hinton asked the community if anyone knew anything about the damage on Kularoo Dr, or any other reports of damage, to contact police.
