MANNING-Great Lakes police have urged motorists to have a plan B when drinking after arresting and charging five people for drink driving over the weekend, including one person with four children in the car.

A police spokesperson said they were very disappointed with the weekend’s result and hoped residents were prepared with back-up transport over the holiday season.
A 30 year old Hallidays Point man was detected at Tuncurry on the Lakes Way driving with the mid range prescribed concentration of alcohol and being a disqualified driver.
A 28 year old Gloucester man was detected in Gloucester driving with the high range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
Police arrested a 38 year old Lansdowne lady at 2am for driving with the mid range prescribed concentration of alcohol at Landsdowne.
At the time of offence police will allege the motorist had four children in the car.
A 31 year old Glenorie man was detected driving on the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook with the low range prescribed alcohol reading.
A 51 year old Taree man was arrested following an accident in Taree and was arrested after a high range prescribed concentration of alcohol was detected.
All persons now have a date with the local court.
Those who had a mid or high range concentration have been suspended from driving until their court appearances.
On the Manning-Great Lakes Local Area Command Facebook page, one commenter said the fact people were driving drunk on roads she frequently used was scary.
