Mona was selected following the NSW?PSSA championships in Parramatta, where she was a member of the Hunter Regional.
Hunter went undefeated through their 12 round games before going down to eventual champions Sydney North 2-1 in the semi-finals.
Mona is the Manning River Times-Iguana Sportstar of the Week, earning a $50 open order at Iguana.
Her charge to the State side started with trials for selection in the Manning squad. She was successful here, then moving to the Hunter championships played in Newcastle before heading to Parramatta with Hunter.
Mona played middle for Hunter, but is unsure if this will be her position in the State team. She expects to know more after attending a three-day training camp with her NSW team-mates next month.
All the Australian States as well as teams from throughout the Pacific area are expected to be involved in the week-long Pacific Games.
Mona started playing touch in the Forster-Tuncurry competition about three years ago and is looking forward to the upcoming season.
However, she doesn't limit herself to touch. She's a Hunter representative at soccer while she also plays netball. However, selection in the NSW team has tipped the scales to touch being her favourite.
