But once you get up there and hear the audience applaud you, the last thing you want to do is stop, and when your show ends the performance-withdrawals start to kick in.
That's why Daniel and students his electives class cannot wait for Education Week to come around next year.
Great Lakes College set up a stage at Stockland Forster Shopping Centre for their high school and primary school students last Thursday and Friday for Education Week, which is a time to celebrate the achievements and successes of students, teachers and support staff in NSW public schools.
“It's a good feeling that people like what you are doing and that you are doing it well,” Daniel said.
“We usually take every opportunity we get to perform.
“Education Week is great because we get to come out here and show the audience what we can do.”
Music teacher and college band director Narelle Richardson said the students also got the chance to work with a professional sound technician.
“Today is also more of a concert experience, so students get to learn about stage transitions and other technical sides to performing,” Mrs Richardson said.
For Daniel, the day satisfied his performing itch, and there was no shortage of applause either.
