FORSTER swimmers have achieved outstanding results at the recent NSW Country Short Course Championships held at Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre.

Reece Turner dominated the men’s 15 and over freestyle events winning gold in the 50m in a time of 22.86 and gold in the 100m in a time of 50.01. Reece swam in the men’s 15 and over 400m freestyle relay, which narrowly missed out on a medal and placed fourth. The team consisted of Andrew Fisher, Reece Turner, Brock VanKampen and Dane Jeffery, who all swam personal bests, swimming courageously to the finish line.
Dane Jeffery, 13, swam an amazing race to claim gold in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1.11.38, which was a personal best by 3.71 seconds. In his age group he placed first in the 50m breaststroke, second in the 50m Freestyle, third in the 200m breaststroke, fourth in the 100m freestyle, fourth in the 200m individual medley and fifth in the 100m butterfly.
Layne Grant, 14, was thrilled with a silver medal in the 50m freestyle in a time of 27.22 which was a personal best by 0.95 seconds and a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle in a time of 1.00.60. Layne placed fourth in her age in the 200m Freestyle and 7th in the 100 Backstroke.
Forster Aquatic Swimming Club would like to congratulate all 10 swimmers who qualified for this carnival with some great personal best times achieved. All swimmers are back in training for the upcoming State Championships to be held on the 28-30th August.
