While the main street parade will still go ahead with a Christmas in July theme, rubber chooks will be thrown instead of bricks and pins.
Committee president Karen Hutchinson said the event has been moved to the RSL rotunda area on Memorial Avenue.
“It is still too wet at the showground and so many buildings are damaged that we had to come up with another plan,” she said.
“But there will still be lots to see and do at the new venue although there is not enough room for brick throwing.
“We are stocking up on rubber chooks and the rules will be strictly adhered to – and no bribes will be accepted,” she laughed.
“The judges’ decision will be final.
“It will all be light-hearted fun and should be a great day.”
There will be a rock ‘n’ roll demonstration, Lucky Starr will be singing and the brickthrowing committee will host a barbecue for breakfast in the rotunda from 8am.
There will be an Avon Valley archery demonstration, chocolate wheel, raffles, kids’ games, Miss Giggles free face painting, Vanguard Historical re-enactment and a craft corner.
The street parade will commence at 10.30am.
