Rohen James Hanson, 32, of The Jack, Smiths Lake and Matthew Scarff, 21, from Robert Street Forster were jailed for breaching the terms of apprehended violence orders and other offences.
Hanson was sentenced to two months in prison following an incident in Forster on February 22 that left a woman with a bleeding and swollen nose. He was found to have breached the terms of an apprehended violence order that had been taken out against him by the woman and will be eligible for release on April 22.
Matthew Scarff will serve at least two months of a seven month jail term after a drunken attack at the home of a 16-year-old girl.
The court heard Scarff had drunk at least eight beers at the Tuncurry races on February 28 this year. After the event he and the victim returned to his home, where a verbal fight began. The victim left the house after he threw a television remote at her, which hit her on the face.
Scarff followed her home, kicking in a window and ripping out a flyscreen to gain entry. Inside, he kicked and smashed a television before heading upstairs and wrenching the door off a cupboard. When the cupboard door came loose, the court heard Scarff fell backwards down the stairs, cutting his face. He left the premises, kicking and damaging a garage roller door. He was arrested a short time later.
He will be eligible for release on May 6 this year. Scarff was ordered to pay $1116 in compensation for the damaged property.
He was also fined $400 for breaching the conditions of an apprehended violence order that had been issued as a result of the incident, including an order not to drink alcohol.
