The scholarship will go towards Ryan’s dreams of competing in the horse riding and dressage events at the Paralympics.
Ryan, who has cerebral palsy, has won many awards on the back of his best friend Jet, including State Champion and is a highly respected member of his school and his community.
The 16-year-old is an inspiration to all he meets.
Ryan’s Variety scholarship will help to provide dressage and riding lessons.
The Variety scholarships were presented at the Concourse Theatre in Chatswood on March 20, but Ryan was unable to attend. The night presented 45 young people with a share in $91,000.
To be eligible for the Variety Scholarships, applicants must have demonstrated talent in the areas of the arts, sport or education and have a genuine need for assistance. By funding tuition and related expenses, the scholarships cover both special needs and disadvantaged children up to 18 years of age, to overcome adversity and reach their full potential.
