Headlined by a new gourmet burger menu, digital ordering board and table service, the new venture by McDonald's is an attempt to match the changing needs of fast food customers.
Craig Evans, the owner and operate of Taree McDonald's, said the opportunity to be the first restaurant in regional Australia with the menu was "exciting."
"The feedback has been fantastic," he said.
"People can't believe the different choice combinations and the flavours they can build."
The new gourmet burger menu means customers can order from a digital touch-screen board, choosing from more than 30 ingredients.
Every part of the burger is customisable, from the bun to the cheese, with the customer able to completely design the burger themselves.
If customers choose to eat-in, they are then seated at a table of their choice before their burger is brought to them by a waiter.
The burger is served on a wooden board with chips served in a basket, further emphasizing the new restaurant style.
For the purists, the original menu is still completely intact, meaning old favourites like the Big Mac and Quarter Pounder are still available.
"We're hoping people still see it as fast, but also convenient and customised," said Craig.
Craig said the new gourmet burger range was just one part of McDonald's menu overhaul.
"We're looking at a new customisable breakfast menu as well," he said.
"This is just the start."
