With the assistance of blue skies, encouraging cheers, and parental help, their students strove for excellence, with Wentworth emerging as the winning house.
Age champions for girls and boys divisions were Ruby Plummer (8), Elise Miles (9), Reef Mirisch (9), Olivia Smith (10), Zane Pringle (10), Amber Cunningham (11), Zachary Watt (11), Tarryn Clifford and Finlay O’Connell (12, 13), Blake Richardson (12, 13).
After a week of rain, the Secondary Swimming Carnival was held. A sea of green, yellow, blue and red dominated the poolscape.
House marquees provided welcome shade as temperatures soared.
Attracting plenty of interest was a bellyflop competition and an inaugural synchronised swimming event.
House captains were given ten minutes to form a team of eight students and choreograph a 30 second routine under certain criteria.
A teacher’s team participated, and the event proved to be a highlight of the day. House Melba came out on top.
