The club has retained the traditional red and black colours but has updated the style of its jersey. This is the first change since the club was launched 20 years ago.
A new strip will be across the front of all the Vikings sides shirts in 2015. This includes juniors, open men’s, open women’s and over 35s.
This change is in line with the revamping of the clubs infrastructure which has been ongoing for the last few years.
The registration of players is proceeding well and it appears that there will be increased numbers in all grades and age groups this year.
The Vikings committee is urging anyone still wanting to register to do so as soon as possible.
Details for online registrations can be accessed from the club’s website: www.thevikings.org.au
The club will be holding another open skills training day this Saturday February 28 from 9-11am at Boronia Park. This session will be run by the Vikings junior development officer Jeff Summers and is open to any junior player boys or girls in the area regardless of the club they are affiliated with.
Vikings Summer Twilight Competition
THIS year’s twilight competition has been another resounding success with a record number of teams competing.
There has been an increase of players to the game from other sports and they have all enjoyed themselves, learnt a lot and are keen to be back next year.
Great Lakes United would like to officially thank the referees for another year of officiating at this event and helping it to be the spectacle that it is.
The club would also like to thank Mick Herb and his assistants for the smooth running of this year’s twilight and also to Wallis Lake Premier League boys for manning the canteen as well as setting up and packing up after the games. For anyone wanting to see some games of football, finals are on Thursday February 26 from 6pm at Boronia Park.
