No welcome to country on Australia Day

WANTS A MORE MEANINGFUL ROLE: Local Aboriginal Land Council chief executive officer Dan Rose has refused to ask anyone from his organisation to give the Welcome to Country at Great Lakes Council’s Australia Day ceremony due to what he sees as council’s lack of interest in allowing the LALC a more meaningful role in this year’s ceremony.
WANTS A MORE MEANINGFUL ROLE: Local Aboriginal Land Council chief executive officer Dan Rose has refused to ask anyone from his organisation to give the Welcome to Country at Great Lakes Council’s Australia Day ceremony due to what he sees as council’s lack of interest in allowing the LALC a more meaningful role in this year’s ceremony.

THIS year’s citizenship and Australia Day awards ceremony held by Great Lakes Council will not include a Welcome to Country or involve the Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) in any other way.
