MEMBERS of the Forster Tuncurry Bodyboard Association (FTBA) came together last week for the club’s end of year presentation and awards night.

Held at Sporties at Tuncurry, FTBA president Aaron Dodds said it has been a great year for the small club which continues to go from strength to strength.
The top gong of the night went to Kallan Bragg who received the 2014 Member of the Year Award for his dedication to the FTBA.
Kallan, who grew up in the Great Lakes but now resides in Newcastle, attended every one of the 10 FTBA events this year as well as four specialist events and four coaching clinics.
Mr Dodds described the young rider as “a great role model for up and coming bodyboarders and very deserving.”
Other results from the presentation night are as follows:
Open Men’s Champion: Josh Selmes on 7150 points followed by Mitch Baker on 6400 points and Kallan Bragg in third on 6100 points.
AA Division Champion: Logan Morgan on 6800 points followed by Flynn Dunn on 6650 points and Brody Hill on 6530 points.
A Division Champion: Ty Auricsh on 6950 points, in equal second Stuart Crookston and Josh Aurisch on 5850 points and Rory Hill in third on 5650 points.
Adam Cheers was named the club’s Dropknee Champion on 7700 points, followed by Kallan Bragg on 6600 points and Jake Ligtenberg on 6100 points.
France Hazar was named the club’s Women’s Champion of the Year on 6200 points followed by Eve Albury on 5800 points.
Masters Champion went to Aaron Dodds on 6200 points, in second place was William Kennedy on 5400 points and in third place was Simon Patterson on 5200 points.
Mini groms: Rhyan Dodds, Noah Dodds, Shaylin Kennedy and Mia Colins.
FTBA’S Judge of the Year award went to Daniel Smith for his commitment to the club. Smith has judged every local event for the year whilst educating younger riders on how to judge events.
Helper of the Year was awarded to Danny “Mullet” Elliott. The FTBA 2014 Backbones awards went to Greg Hill, Greg Williams and Tina Gogerly while the club’s Most Improved
riders were Jeremy Coombes, Kobi Simon and Anthony Murphy. The Committee Member of the Year Award went to Trish Smith and the Trooper of the Year award went to Ben Fletcher.
Junior Helpers of the Year were awarded to Billy Kennedy and Josh Aurisch.
