Riders’ musical ride claims gold

THE Manning-Great Lakes Riding for the Disabled team has won gold in the United Kingdom.

Entry was via a recording of their performance sent to the UK for judging.

The team won first prize in the musical ride in the RDA’s international competition, held in Gloucestershire recently.

Performers of all successful regional teams in Australia competed in the international RDA championships.

The Manning-Great Lakes team of five riders and their horses were assisted by three leaders as they acted out the story of Sleeping Beauty to the music In an English Country Garden.

The riders and their royal attendants were dressed in the very colourful and old fashioned head gear of princes and princesses.

They rode in a “palace garden”of gum branches and poinsettia flowers.

The judges expressed their interest at seeing an Australian production and congratulated the winners on a beautiful display.

The winning team consisted of Tarnee Reynen, Rodney Neal, Domonique Power, Tara Copp and Parris Green.  Tarnee, Rodney and Domonique are all from Forster Tuncurry.
