Both have been active nippers since 2007 and are now at the age where they are undergoing training to gain their Surf Rescue Certificate.
This will allow them to commence patrolling One Mile Beach prior to commencing their Bronze Medallion in about 12 months.
Both are very confident swimmers and board paddlers and will be an asset to the club in years ahead. Congratulations Alexander and Layne.
Nippers were also held on Sunday with a large group in attendance enjoying near perfect conditions. Many thanks to the age managers and to those who assist with water safety. Our nipper activities could not be conducted without their participation.
Surf patrols are well underway for the season with the beach being patrolled between 9am and 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
In the Christmas holidays this will increase to 9am to 5pm seven days a week.
All lifesavers are required to undergo an annual proficiency to ensure their skills are up to date. The next proficiency day will be held on Sunday (November 16) at 10am.
