The group, which are due for an assessment in December, are being trained by Richard Ellery and Kim Hamilton. Once qualified, the group will add to the ten surf patrols currently operating.
Nippers recommenced on October 12 for the season with an excellent roll up. Nippers recently attended a carnival at Crowdy Head Surf Life Saving Club and achieved some good results. Last weekend, in excess of 90 nippers had a great morning on the beach in superb conditions.
The ladies surf boat crew, which consists of Anne Curtis, Raelene Carmichael, Annette Sanders and Leanne Irving, swept by David Rankin, competed in a two day carnival at Yamba recently as part of the North Coast Boat Series. The crew competed against some top quality crews and were very pleased with their results, finishing second overall.
