Mr Wakeling was recently presented with the award from the former world tennis champion himself, Frank Pitt. 

The award was in recognition of Mr Wakeling’s court maintenance and his willingness to volunteer for many tasks including cooking the barbecue at major tournaments and being part of the Friday morning work gang which has been going for 12 years.

After finishing his yard work on Friday mornings, Mr Wakeling then ducks into the kitchen and prepares a hearty breakfast for the workers, all of whom are volunteers.
