The Canon AIPP Australian Professional Photography Awards (CAPPA) attracts hundreds of entries from photographers across Australia and the world.
Each photographer submits four images, which are judged by a panel of peers. Winning images are published in an awards book.
“My wife Rhonda and I were down in Sydney for the event and were sitting in on some of the judging when my image came up to be judged. It was both exciting and nerve racking as the panel of highly recognized photographers discussed the image,” said Shane.
Shane’s silver award winning image is of a Mahi Mahi, also known as a Dolphin fish, which Shane captured underwater approximately five miles out, off Cape Hawke.
The silver gong comes on top of him winning three bronze awards at The EPSOM International Pano Awards in August for his wave photography. The competition celebrates panoramic photography, and entries were submitted from 54 countries, attracting some of the world’s best international photographers. In total 3,971 images were entered by 870 photographers.
