The day featured the opening of the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and the hospital's mental health team presenting information on the issue of 'getting the elephant out of the room' as part of Mental Health Month.
Visitors on the day were intrigued by the high tech equipment and systems of the hospital's catheter lab, and were treated to an inspiring session by vascular surgeon Dr Phil Colman.
BOC Sleepcare also organised a display to show everyone the latest and greatest systems for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders.
Local band Stronghart, made up of members aged between 13 and 15 years, kept the crowd entertained into the afternoon.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead presented a speech, which Mayo Private Hospital CEO Peter Johnson said delivered a clear message that aimed to help the hospital and the future development of health services in the Manning Valley.
"Mr Bromhead thanked Mayo Private Hospital and Healthe Care Australia for its investment in local health infrastructure, particularly in respect of the MRI and the new cardiac and vascular services laboratory," he said.
"He explained that the multi million dollar investment by Healthe Care Australia had attracted several new specialists to the area and that he looked forward to the future development and expansion of cardiac services in the Manning.
"He also highlighted future challenges and opportunities for urology and cancer services."
