TUNCURRY Beach Bowling Club, along with parent club St. John's Park Bowling Club, recently handed over a cheque for $2,500 to the Mid North Coast chapter of the Men of League (MOL).

The contribution is part of the club's policy (Category One) of supporting locally run charities who work to raise funds for locals who are in need of a helping hand.
Group CEO Dave Marsh, president Paul Norris and Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club CEO Terry Green were on hand to present the funds to Mid North Coast MOL president Brian Atherton and treasurer Chris Turner.
This is in addition to a recent $10,000 contribution from St. John's Park Bowling Club to the National MOL organisation.
"Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club and St. John's Park Bowling Club are generous and valuable supporters of our organisation and this latest presentation is tangible evidence of their commitment to not only MOL but our community in general,” president Brian Atherton said.
Treasurer Chris Turner supported Mr Atherton's comments pointing out that the Great Lakes community along with the business sector has gained national recognition in recent months for its remarkable support of our two young local footballers Curtis Landers and Jarred Wynter who are both undergoing intensive and on-going treatment.
Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club has been an integral part of that support.
MOL is a registered charity which assists anyone who has been involved with Rugby League (at any level) who may be in need of support, both short and long term.
That support may be as basic as members visiting the private homes or nursing homes of former players or officials who may be incapacitated to assisting with home renovations for those who, as an example, may be confined to a wheelchair.
MOL Mid North Coast and Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club are in the early stages of organising a gala bowls day with details and dates to be advised in coming weeks.
