Petika Grant sent photos and a video to the Great Lakes Advocate (watch it below) and said she has never seen it this bad: "Never, I've lived here all my life and have seen the dunes beaten away, but never this close to the road."
Storms have stripped what sand was left (much of it placed there as part of expensive ongoing council replenishment programs) creating a dangerous cliff and exposing large rocks.
A concrete pad which had been constructed for trucks to tip sand on the beach to be spread by excavators has been destroyed.
Great Lakes Council is currently investigating the best options to combat the recent subsidence but have not yet confirmed what a long-term solution will be. Council engineers are working with other agencies and have been unavailable for interview.
Like some other areas along the NSW coastline, Jimmys Beach has been under constant threat of severe erosion over the years with council continually battling to save a row of beachfront homes.
Residents have sent in photos of the erosion to The Great Lakes Advocate as well as a video.
