The Tigers will now face the Wildcats in the preliminary final for a chance to put the championship crown on their unbeaten premiership for 2014.
The Tigers took the lead relatively early in the game with a great strike from Joey Newman after some excellent lead up work from Jake Stockdale.
The Tigers appeared to have withstood the battering from the Vikings up until around eight minutes to go when a series of errors allowed the Vikings’ lone striker to square the ledger and send the game into extra time.
Prior to this, the Tigers had missed several relatively straight forward scoring chances and before full time Jake Camilleri had hit the post.
In extra time, Nick Chapman could have won the game for the home team but shot wide with the match going into penalties before sudden death. The Vikings won the shootout 6-5.
