After a great start with a couple of good opportunities missed, the Tigers backed off a little and the Rovers fought their way back into the contest well.
The Rovers were first to the ball and began exerting some pressure on the Tigers’ defence, whilst the Tigers were causing themselves trouble with poor pass choice and a lack of movement off the ball.
The first half culminated in Green Point hitting the cross bar and going in to the break as the dominant side.
After a half time blast from the coach, the Tigers started the second half as they did the first, but this time quickly took the lead with Jack Yeates out jumping the defence to head home an accurate Andrew Couch free kick.
The lead was short lived as the Rovers equalised from a similar situation. This was the spark the Tigers needed and they started to play good football with penetrating attacks down either flank.
Ryan Chipperfield, who had an impressive senior debut for the Tigers, put them in front with a superb strike from the top of the box.
The Tigers’ third came from Dylan Nash with what may be the best team goal of the year after a great exchange of passes between Nash, Ceccato, Couch and Thompson.
Icing on the cake was provided by Mitch Minors, who beat his man in the box, turned and smashed the ball past the Rovers keeper, to make the final score TFFC Tigers 4, Rovers 1.
The Tigers now face Pacific Palms in next week's championship match at the zone field in Taree.
