She joins Gloucester Council and Groundswell Gloucester in opposing the approval.
“I have joined Clr Tony Tersteeg and ex Clr Julie Lyford, the community and council because this industry has the potential to have a major impact on the community of Gloucester, and most importantly, from the Great Lakes perspective, on our water catchment.”
She says the threat that fracking and the coal seam gas industry poses to the health and well-being of the Great Lakes, the Manning and Gloucester council areas is unacceptable.
“This industry will operate in the heart of our precious water catchment where we draw our water supply from and within 200 meters of an established rural residential community. This whole operation needs to cease until the current studies have been completed and the findings presented to the council and community.”
Groundswell Gloucester are calling on all concerned, to come and join them and find out more about CSG at their peaceful vigil, outside AGL’s offices on Bucketts Way Gloucester, daily.
