“We have had a jam-packed calendar of social and group meetings so far this year,” said Nicole Gigg, community educator for the group
“A reunion dinner with past volunteers and members started off the year’s celebration, followed by a Garden High Tea Party to celebrate the launch of Little Ray of Sunshine. This new rose was designed especially for ABA’s 50th anniversary. Add to that many local group meetings and a celebration for Mothering Week.”
Recently a number of the group’s volunteers attended the association’s national conference in Melbourne, Liquid Gold, to update their knowledge with the results of the latest research so they can continue to provide support and up-to-date information to mums in the local area.
The group will be meeting at a new location in Taree next month, so face-to-face support will be more easily accessible.
You will now be able to meet with other mums at Taree Library as well as in Hallidays Point. All mums (and their partners and children) are welcome and encouraged to attend.
ABA is a great way to meet new mums with many long lasting friendships developing from meeting others through the group.
It is not a group just for people who need help breastfeeding - it is a group for people who want to support each other with their parenting.
If you are interested in attending, the group’s meeting schedule can be found on their website: www.mumsmilk.org
Upcoming meeting dates: September 1, Morning tea in Forster; September 15, Breast Issues at Taree Library meeting room; October 13, Introducing Solids at Taree Library meeting room; November 17, ABCs of breastfeeding at Taree Library meeting room; December 1, guest speaker on coping in the heat and holidays at Anita’s house (Hallidays Point).
All meetings start at 10am. Taree Library is at 242 Victoria St Taree.
