Jared, better known as smiley, is currently being treated for stage four soft tissue sarcoma – a rare form of cancer which affects his brain and lungs.

Hundreds of people turned up to play bowls and show their support for Jared at the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club.

The benefit which started at 10am, included raffle draws and an auction and managed to raise an incredible $40,000. All of the money raised will go towards Jared and his ongoing medical costs.
