Haydon Bolt, Harry Nowland and Tim Thomas, all from Forster Tuncurry, will take to the field at Advocate Park in Coffs Harbour on Saturday May 3 after being selected to represent Group 3 rugby league.
The tournament is a selection trial for the East Coast Dolphins and will identify the best under 18s players from throughout Groups 3, 2, 1 and 18. The East Coast Dolphins will go on to play at a competition against other regions as part of the Queen’s Birthday celebrations later in the year.
Those selected as part of the under 18s representative squad for Group 3 were presented publically to the Group as part of the season launch at Wingham Services Club on Friday April 11.
All eight first grade coaches of the clubs making up Group 3 attended the launch and spoke to those in attendance about the upcoming season. The 2014 season colours were also officially unveiled.
Special guest on the night Phil Mann, former Parramatta player and Port Macquarie Sharks coach, spoke about his experiences coaching the Sharks to three first grade wins in the 1990s as part of the Group 3 competition.
