The seller of the winning eight-game marked entry, Tull’s Newsagency at Forster, was also celebrating a landmark win.
Owner Denis Tull said, in five years owning the store, this was the first really large win.
“We’ve had a few big ones, but nothing like that. We’ve been saying for a while that we were due for a win.”
A plaque marking the $1 million ticket will go up on the newsagency wall.
“It’s good for the town to get something like this,” Mr Tull said.
“It’s been a few years since there was a Saturday jackpot win.”
Mr Tull said, while he didn’t know the identity of the winner, he understood he was a regular customer.
There were four entries from NSW that won a first division prize in the April 7 Monday Lotto draw. The other winning tickets came from Cessnock, Kotara and Winston Hills.
