The Great Lakes will be surf central as a host of NSW titles will be held in the region come June.
The upcoming HIF NSW Surfmasters Titles will be held in the Great Lakes as will the Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles and round two of the Australian Kneeboard Titles.
The array of events will kick off in the Great Lakes region on June 12 and run for 10 days.
Dates for each individual event are:
HIF NSW Surfmasters Titles presented by Moby’s Beachside Retreat: June 12-15, 2014
Australian Skin Cancer Clinics NSW Longboard Titles presented by HIF: June 17-21, 2014
Australian Kneeboard Titles - Round 2: June 22, 2014
“The Great Lakes region is one of the most diverse and consistent regions in NSW,” said Surfing NSW Event Manager Luke Madden.
“It’s a great honour for Surfing NSW to be able to work alongside Great Lakes Council and Great Lakes Tourism to bring these three events to the area. With any luck we’ll get to sample a large variety of different locations within the region, especially in the heart of the Forster township.”
Surfing NSW intends to mix up locations for the events depending on conditions and will seek the most appropriate waves for each discipline.
“There’s a large range of different waves in the region and we hope we can sample a variety of locations and set-ups, whether it be points, reefs or beachbreaks,” Madden said.
Surfing NSW will also host an Indigenous Surfing Program (ISP) on Monday, 16th of June (between both events) in the Great Lakes area.
Entries to the events open in early May.
