New club record will be hard to beat

ANDREW McCawley of Tuncurry was a recipient of one of over 100 awards made to Manning Valley Rifle Club members at the annual presentation day held at their Koorainghat range.

McCawley received a Top Gun award for shooting a new club record of 0.022 inches (just over half of a mm) for a five shot group diameter at 25metres in rimfire target class.

With five shots through one hole the only way to measure was to measure the width of the bullet hole with a vernier then deduct the diameter of the bullet to find the actual spread. This is one record that will be very difficult to beat.
