MEN, women and children proved that domestic violence has no place in our society when about 60 people took a united front and walked across town on Sunday as part of White Ribbon Day.
Starting and finishing at John Wright Park, the group walked over the Forster Tuncurry Bridge and along Memorial Drive and Wharf St before heading back.
The day was coordinated by the Great Lakes and Manning Valley domestic violence monitoring committees and aims to raise awareness for violence against women and children.
Yesterday marked Australia’s 10th White Ribbon Day and since its inception the White Ribbon movement has been a powerful tool at helping to put domestic violence squarely in the public eye.
