Rescue medals in the pool

RECENTLY five 12-year-old girls from Forster SLSC Nippers attended the NSW Pool Rescue Championships at the Peninsula Pool, Woy Woy.

The team, comprising Maddison Pinto, Sarah Ward, Amy Houlihan, Clare Septon and Brooke Berg, performed with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship in four individual events.

One notable swim was by Brooke who came fourth in the 50m swim with fins.  The girls particularly excelled in the team line throw event. Sarah Ward (thrower) and Brooke Berg (patient) were successful in winning and blitzed the rest of the field.

The team of Clare Septon (thrower) and Amy Houlihan (patient) came in second after doing a second throw within the 45 second time period. The girls were extremely excited about the result as they have trained hard for the past six weeks and this was their first experience at pool rescue.

Forster Nippers should be proud of these young ladies who showed great maturity and dedication in the preparation for these state titles. Their hard work certainly paid off.
