Students at a Geelong high school are being offered counselling after being set an assignment that asked them to enter the mind of a serial killer.

A teacher at Northern Bay College in Corio is understood to have set tasks for Year Nine students that included designing a serial killer's house and planning their first murder.
One parent told Channel Ten that no child should be faced with that kind of task.
“You don't want to put those sorts of images in their heads.”
Campus principal Ken Massari, who took the reins of the school only last month, said the assignment had been inappropriate and had the potential to be deeply disturbing.
“This is the first we have heard today that there's been any concerns with it, so being alerted we've made the appropriate steps to make sure it was withdrawn immediately, and permanently,” he told Channel Ten.
