The last winter meeting of the Hallidays Point Social Triathlon group is at Black Head on Sunday and, without the need to dip a toe in the water, is now a mere eight-kilometre run and 20km mountain bike ride.

The field will snake through the state forests behind the Tallwoods estate, and stream into the Black Head and Red Head reserves.

Coordinator Peter Ryall said competitors can opt to leave out one leg of the duathlon. There is no entry fee but, he stressed, entrants take part at their own risk. The men’s winner at the club’s July meet was Rhett Pattison (1:20:14), and Helen Pursh (1:47:15) took out the women’s section.
