JESSE King is quickly becoming Forster’s answer to Ian Thorpe after achieving an impressive three gold medals from six events in Sydney last week.
Competing in his pet discipline, breastroke, at Swimming NSW Country Championships in Olympic Park, King blew the opposition away winning the 50m, 100m and 200m by impressive margins.
This is a continuation of Jesse’s recent good form which has seen his times tumble dramatically under the watchful eye of his coach Peter Sanders.
King was among a seven members of the Forster Aquatic Swim Club who competed in a combined 29 events.
Brooke Summers swam four events with four PBs making it to the 100m backstroke final. Ben Summers swam in eight events, with three PBs swimming his way into the 50m backstroke while team mate Jeremy Smith swam six events with four PBs.
Leah King swam in two events with a PB in the 50m freestyle as Emily Nash swam a PB in the 100m beastroke and Jesse Wilkes achieved PBs in the 50m freestyle.
“This was a great carnival and many thanks go to club coach Peter Sanders and the attending parents, who kept spirits high and the team cheering each other on,” club president Michael Summers said.
“This again shows how Forster sporting teams continue to fight above their weight when representing their town in major championships.”
In other news the club would like to thank their two major sponsors the Forster Tuncurry Mudcrabs and the Lakeside Tavern for this season.
“The Mudcrabs have been long time major sponsors of the club and we wish to thank them for their continued support over the years. Likewise, the Lakeside Tavern has only recently come on board and we appreciate their support and look forward to a long association ahead,” Mr Summers said.
