Performance makes the cut

04 Nov, 2009 08:56 AM
GREAT Lakes College Drama HSC students are officially among the best in the state following their nomination to the prestigious OnStage drama showcase.

Delighting examiners with their humorous and satirical look at generation Y and popular culture Alisha King, Gabby Hunter and Neva Trinajstic could be among a select few performing at the Department of Education and Training showcase.

“We were so excited when we heard. It was our goal to be nominated for OnStage so we worked on our performance on weekends and during the holidays,” Alisha King said.

Drama teacher, Marion Johnson was thrilled with the nomination of her students.

“Only exemplary performances are nominated so this nomination indicates that the girls have done extremely well in their group performance,” she said.

“It is particularly gratifying because the girls were extremely organised and worked hard to achieve their best.”

This is the third year that the school has been nominated, with three groups and three individual performances nominated in 2007 and 2006.
