Block’s roof blown off

10 Mar, 2010 08:15 AM
AN explosive device that blew apart a toilet block at the southern end of Blueys Beach has caused an estimated $1000 in damage.

Between late Saturday evening and early Sunday morning residents saw three to five men near the toilet block. Shortly after the porcelain toilet exploded with such force lifting iron sheeting from the roof. Police are continuing their enquiries into the matter.

Great Lakes Council’s regulatory control coordinator Greg Pevitt said there is rarely ever damage to the site. He said council officers have surveyed the toilet block and secured the area.
